The Pettit Environmental Preserve in Cartersville, GA is seeking volunteers to assist in providing environmental education to students age pre-K through 12th grade.

Previous environmental education is a bonus, but not required, as training will be provided. Volunteers will work under supervision of wildlife educator, primarily leading hands on centers activities with occasional trail presentations. Hours are generally Monday – Friday from 9 am to 12 or 1 pm.

Students studying biology, wildlife ecology, forestry and related disciplines will find the experience very beneficial, however students from any background are welcome.

Retirees or anyone interesting in giving back to the community are welcome to volunteer. A strong interest in the environment and a willingness to work with children are the primary requirements. Education experience is not necessary, however a background check will be required.
