Volunteer

Contribution of time and effort allow volunteers to buy into ownership of the Pettit Preserve’s purpose of environmental appreciation, education, and research. As a non-profit 401c3 corporation, The Mission and Vision of The Margaret and Luke Pettit Environmental Preserve can most effectively be achieved by the efforts provided by our Volunteers. Opportunities available to Volunteers include, but are not limited to the assisting and/or taking lead roles in:

a) Education field trips and workshops

b) Community and civic outreach programs encouraging environmental education and preservation

c) Money raising events and projects to fund the Mission of the Pettit Preserve

d) Publicize and increase the public’s awareness of the Pettit Preserve

All of these efforts should be planned and preformed in concert with the staff of the Preserve. It is all for today and future generations. Save the earth, it is the only planet that has the Margaret and Luke Pettit Environmental Preserve. Contact any staff or Board member for additional details.

Below are some specific details if you are interested in volunteering at the Pettit Preserve.

*  We are looking for someone who is interested in the outdoors and educating children. (Lesson plan and supplies will be  provided)

*  The hours will most likely be between 9am and 2pm on weekdays

*  A “science” background is not necessary but experience with other academic disciplines are encouraged
